DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT DO THIS!

While everyone is carping about whether Dennis Hastert should resign there are vicious human beings who are plotting and planning our collective demise.  As vile as Mr. Foley's behavior was, it is now exposed (thanks to some Democrat bloggers) and is becoming a distraction from the important issues of the day.  Don't worry, Mr. Foley and those who knew of his shenanigans will pay the price and that includes the Dems who knew about it for months and just laid in wait until October.

This election should not be about Mark Foley (Mr. Sicko) or Dennis Hastert but about national security.  It's really quite simple.  If we are all dead our only concern will be where we spend eternity.  Nobody who is six feet under is concerned with taxes, the environment or other various and sundry issues.  It is only when we are alive and kicking that we have the ability to care about or act on them.

For those of us who have been writing and calling the powers that be about border fencing we should be ecstatic.  How many of us know that President Bush signed the border fencing law?  He did and I am grateful to those who pushed it through and to him for his signature.

Let the Dems and mainstream media overplay their hand as usual.  It only shows where their priorities lie.......and we all know that it is NOT our security.  Please, I repeat, PLEASE do not stoop to their level.  Keep you eye on ball, or, in this case on the terrorists.  If everyone does this, we will all be the better for it and will live to tell about our grandchildren about the Foley scandal.

All The More

The Media, the Democrats and the Mark Foley debacle are all the more reason that, we, Conservatives need to hit the polls on November 7th and encourage all of our Conservative friends to turn out and vote.  I don't know about you but I am already sick and tired of hearing about Foley's situation and the Dems" accusations that have accompanied it.  Yes, Mark Foley is wrong and a very sick man but the Democrat uproar is no more than "the pot calling the kettle black".

I am also sick and tired of the negativism by some Conservative pundits.  Even Ann Coulter thinks the Republicans will lose Congress.  "The Dems' 1994" I heard her say on the O'Reilly Factor last night.  Some people need to read or reread Norman Vincent Peale's "The Power of Positive Thinking".  It's time for Conservatives to band together and not allow the opposition to keep us at home on November 7th.

We can win and we WILL win - we just need to start fighting back.  Our leaders must stand up together and we must tell them so.  I'm not giving this country over to the Left.  I hope you won't either.  Let's get to work....time's a wasting!

Nukes and Neurotics

Merriam Webster defines a neurotic as an emotionally unstable person; therefore, even without a PHD after my name I think I am safe calling Kim Jong Il a neurotic and dangerous man.  Better put - a wack job!  A Nut? Crazy?  Yes, I think so.

As usual, this morning my first news blast came from Drudge whose headline reads: "North Korea Vows Nuclear Test".  I have often wondered why, since human life means nothing to these people, someone has not taken out Mr. Il...or is it Mr. Jong Il?  As a Christian, human life is precious to me so I am not advocating assassination - just wondering why nobody in North Korea has done so.  I am left with no other conclusion than everyone in power there is as wacked as he.

I am also not of Asian heritage so maybe I don't understand the mindset.  Then again, maybe King Jong Il is not really crazy but a blowhard.  Nah.  To boot, he's blaming the US as the reason for the test.  After all, don't you know we're going to attack him?  I guess he has a White House informant like Hugo Chavez.  Maybe, it's the same informant?

So, what's the US going to do?  Go to the UN, of course,  The inept, incompetent world body who coddles human rights violators and promotes dictators.  God help us and I mean that as the most sincere prayer.  Unless China puts their thumb on the mentally ill dictator he will test his nuke and maybe kill some human beings in the process.

Keep your eye on this one.  The delusional dictator is at it again.

No! No! No!

No, I have not read Woodward's book and probably won't.  No, I did not watch the Sunday talk shows and usually don't, except Fox News Sunday.  No, I haven't read the Washington Post and New York Times but l will admit that I did subscribe to the Post by email.  It helps me to understand where the dark side is headed.

What I have read about "State of Denial" prompts me to think that it is just another pre election anti Bush, anti Republican hit piece.  Let's see.  Hmmmm, coming out less than 40 days before the mid terms by a mainstream reporter who we know is a Liberal.  If it was the only book in the library I wouldn't take it out free so there's no chance I will spend money for it.

The excerpts I have read seem a bit ludicrous.  It just isn't believable to me that "W" would continue in Iraq even if Laura and Barnie were the only ones supporting him.  Or, that Laura wanted Rumself canned.  I don't know who Woodward's sources are but it's pretty sad when the best you can do are the aforementioned statements.  It sounds to me that the author interviewed those who would confirm, rather than deny, his premise that the President is a delusional, stubborn man who only listens to what he wants to hear.

Apparently, there are those within whose loyalty to the President must be questioned.
We've already seen some of that betrayal through the likes of Richard Armitage, who preferred to save his own skin is rather than put others and the country at rest about the Valerie Pflame incident.  The various and sundry intelligence leaks continue and, now, Colin Powell is in the midst of a tome about how he warned President Bush about Iraq.  I guess that's one way of relieving yourself of any responsibility for your tenure as Secretary of State.  I thought Generals were courageous?

Even if there is any truth in State of Denial I probably won't believe it.  Bob Woodward has already lost credibiliity with me.  It's just a shame we're going to have to listen to all of this jibberish.  As for me, I'll get my truth elsewhere.

The Politics of Perversion

On Friday, when I first learned of the circumstances surrounding Mark Foley's resignation  I asked myself "isn't that the Congressman who has been on TV promoting child protection legislation?"  It was and I was stunned.  Stunned to the point that I could not stop thinking about the boy, his parents and Mr. Foley's family.  I don't know his personal circumstance but those who love him are in a very difficult place.  Everyone involved is.

If I were to tell my husband that I was stunned he would roll his eyes and give me one of those "don't be so naive" looks.  Maybe I am and that little girl who was educated by mostly nuns and priests in K thru 12 still lives somewhere in my psyche.  Then again, I am always stunned when someone, who has the world by the tail, will risk everything for a dollar or a dalliance.

Now, we find out that his perversion was known to the Republican leaders in Congress.  I'm not sure if they could have forced him to resign sooner but it also doesn't sound like they tried.  I do know that less than 40 days before an election his selfishness and the leaders' stupidity could cost them the House.  They better have a good spin machine on this one.

Sexual perversion is not new in politics and we only have to remember former President Clinton's many liasions (some by force) and my former Governor McGreevey's appointment of his gay lover to head NJ's Homeland Security.  Only Clinton remained in office but that's a topic for another day.  Mark Foley is not the first and I doubt he will be the last.

Apparently, he thought that by being in the forefront of child protection legislation that he could better hide his own perversion.  I guess he didn't take to heart that old adage "everything comes out in the wash".  Methinks he will from this day forward.

This is a sick situation caused by a sick person.  I hope for his own sake he seeks help and for our sake I'm glad he's out of power.

Finally!

The last few days has had me cheering Congress, which is a rarity in my life.  They finally got it together and passed some meaningful Security legislation, which will be signed into law by President Bush.  They finally decided to listen to the American people.  Let me shout, Yeah!, because it probably won't happen again until 2008.

To be fair, the House has been working on and passing border security legislation since last year but the Senate, whose members would rather die than not debate an issue to death have been huffing and puffing about border security for what seems to be forever and a day.  Is 700 miles of fencing the answer to our security?  No, but it's a worthwhile beginning and combined with other legislation passed this week gives me some hope that someone is listening.

Of course, both of my Senators, Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez voted against it but I live in the People's Republic of New Jersey.  I am convinced that my state could be, if voted upon, the most Left leaning in the nation.  Hence, my bio in which I call myself a lonely Conservative.  Even the GOP here is not as Right as I'd like.

I was surprised that Senator Lieberman voted against the fencing but I figure if he wants to win over any Lamont leaning voters he has to go Left just a little.  It's a shame when anyone thinks they have sell out but go ahead Joe because we need you in DC.  I understand your dilemma.

For the most part it's been a good week for Conservatives thanks to our Congress and they deserve to be rewarded by our votes on Election Day.  Then again, what other choice do we have?  Socialist demagogues who want to rule, not run, our country and whose sole goal it is to turn us into a government dependent state that would make Marx and Lenin proud?  I don't think so.

So......join with me by raising your glass or cup filled with the beverage of choice in salute to all of us who demanded action and to those who FINALLY heard our voice.  God Bless America!

Psssst!

It has happened to all of us at one time or another.  Someone, during a conversation, lets loose with a juicy piece of news about another, who is usually not present and unable to defend the accusation.  More often than not, the news is hurtful and destructive.  Our reaction to this tidbit largely depends upon our relationship with the person whose life is being harmed but even if we don't know them we may wonder about the character of the person who is so enthusiatic to spread the evil tidings.

Unless you have been living in a cave or on some remote island for the past week you know about the hoopla surrounding Senator George Allen's use of the "N" word.  Campaign season is upon us and this will only be the first of many slings and arrows by both sides.  My first reaction upon hearing was disappointment because if you were to ask me today who I would vote for in 2008 it would be him.  Later when I stopped and thought about it I said to myself "What a dirty trick!".  The more I heard the more I knew that it was just a horrible smear by those with an agenda.  I have no doubt that somehow his opponent's campaign, the DNC or DSCC was involved.

My sincerest disappointment is found in Larry Sabato, a professor at UVA.  I have always enjoyed listening to his pre election analysis, mostly because I thought he was non partisan.  NO MORE.  Mr. Sabato has shown himself to be blatantly partisan and either stupid, hateful or maybe both.  He has lost his credibility and when I heard on Sean Hannity's radio show that he had worked for a Democrat politician it cemented my opinion.

After stating that he was absolutely certain that Senator Allen had used the "N" word he bactracked, telling the AP that he had been told by reliable sources in the last few weeks it was true.  C'mon!  He never witnessed the Senator speaking the word, only recently heard the gossip, but had the audacity to pass it along as concrete truth.  What was he thinking?  Remember, what I said about character?  He has none.

Politics is a down and dirty business and campaigns investigate their opponent's background from the day they are born to find dirt - but it better be true.  If you are going to try to destroy someone's reputation, at least be truthful about it.  I would prefer listening to a candidate's stand on the issues but since Dems can't be truthful about what they do stand for I guess they have no choice but to spread rumor even if it means lying.  That's not gossip, just pure fact.

It would be nice to think that things will change but as long as humanity continues to be human I doubt it.

Drip, Drip, Drip

If the kitchen faucet is leaking you call a plumber, or, in my case ask my husband to take a look at it.  Sometimes, it is nothing more than an inexpensive washer which must be replaced but, at other times, especially if the leak has been left unattended the entire faucet must be replaced.  So it is in Washington DC.

If I could, today, speak to anyone in our nation's capital I would choose our Attorney General and ask him what was being done to stem the flow of leaks in the intelligence community.  I would express my sincere concern that the many leaks pouring out to the press are putting each and everyone of us in grave danger.  I would not leave until he assured me that the Justice Department was working diligently to find the traitors.

I am far from alone in my thoughts about this matter and have even noticed that President Bush shares my anger and angst about the traitors among us.  Yes, I know that you should watch name calling but if the shoe fits - and in this case it does - then I believe that you must call them like you see them, and, if your treachery has put my family in danger then I am going to let you know how I feel!

The perpetrators must be found, prosecuted and punished to the fullest extent of the law.  It must be done publicly for all to see.  Their position in government or political affiliation matters not.  Justice must reign because our survival depends on it.

I would also encourage Mr. Gonzales to put under oath every reporter who published leaks, and, if they failed to cooperate jail them, their editor and publisher until every bit of information needed was divulged.  If that meant eventually shutting down the presses then so be it!  We would probably all be better off if the likes of the New York Times was not able to spew their Leftist agenda for awhile.

Enough is enough!  When a political agenda is put above national security then those involved must pay the price for their treasonous behavior.  The mainstream press has, for too long, been allowed to damage our national interest.  This must be stopped.

Mr. Gonzales, I hope you're listening

Nothing has changed

As I sat and watched Chris Wallace's interview with former President Clinton Sunday night I was astounded, not because of the content of his answers but because nothing has changed.  Even after being caught lying under oath while still President, Mr. Clinton continues to point his finger and lie to the American public.  Don't get me wrong.  I am not privy to NSA or DOD info but there has been enough information made public about his failure to get bin Laden to fill one section of a book store.

I vividly remember watching the former President lie to all of us as he pointed his finger and told us that he did not have sex with "that woman".  Maybe, because I am a woman I knew the moment those words left his mouth that he was lying through his teeth.  He could have saved his family and his country many, many months of aggravation and $$$$$$$$ if he had only told the truth in the beginning.  If, initially, he had admitted to the Lewinsky affair it probably would have gone away in short order.  After all, we Americans have short memories.

Nothing has changed and he certainly has not.  That is why I knew when he pointed his finger at Chris Wallace he was once again lying to save his own skin.  I am not sure if he is emotionally immature, a pathological liar or has a more serious condition and, at this point,  I don't really care.  I do care that he still continues to put his own welfare above ours.  A nice apology would have been in order.  For instance, if he had said that he was sorry if he or anyone in his administration had not done enough and stop there; but he did not.  He decided to use the same old playbook and blame the "vast right wing conspiracy".  Since I consider myself a proud member of that same conspiracy I was deeply offended.

As a compassionate Conservative I am sorry that he thinks he must do or say anything to save himself but, having said that, I don't want him near any person, place or thing at any time where he can do any further damage to this nation.  I wish him the best and may he and the Mrs. enjoy life as far away from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue as possible.
